The
visit to the IPD and VIP wards of Imam Reza (AS) Hospital began at 9 am,
accompanied by a delegate from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (KUMS)
and a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The facilities and
services provided to patients were visited by Mr. Jafar Sattar Alkhazali, the
esteemed General Consulate of the Republic of Iraq in Kermanshah. Afterwards,
in an interview with The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), he
expressed his satisfaction with the hospital's facilities and equipment, and
hoped that "we can enhance collaborations between the two neighboring
countries and optimally use the medical facilities at KUMS for the treatment of
Iraqi patients."
Later, the educational and research facilities
of the university, including the Faculty of Pharmacy, classrooms, research and
laboratory facilities were visited, as well as other research centers such as the Biological
Research Center, Research Laboratory, Genetics Laboratories, and other
educational facilities.
Consequently, a meeting was held with the Chancellor
of the university and his vice chancellors for Clinical Affairs, Research and Technology, Education, Food and Drugs.
Discussions were held on the university's facilities and the request to develop
bilateral collaborations in the field of medical tourism and to have the
university's name listed among the approved universities by the Ministries of
Health and Higher Education in Iraq.
It was agreed that educational, treatment, and
research collaborations and joint meetings at high levels would be pursued by
the esteemed General Consulate and KUMS with authorities of Iraq’s Ministries
of Health and Higher Education and Scientific Research in Baghdad or
Kermanshah. Finally, a package, introducing various parts of the university,
and the written requests for developing mutual educational and treatment collaboration
were given to the esteemed General Consulate of Iraq in Kermanshah by the
Chancellor of KUMS.
