Statute of Granting Discounts to International Students

Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences 

 

The statute is developed based on Section 16 of meeting minutes of the board of trustees of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences approved on October 2nd, 2016 with the goal of attracting foreign elites and improving the international level of the university. The clauses of the statute have been implemented since the approval date of the board of trustees. 

Entrance Conditions: 

 

  1. Students with a GPA of more than 98 (out of 100) can benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount in the first academic year. 
  2. Students with international patent approval will benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount in the first academic year. 
  3. Students with gold, silver, and bronze medals of Asia Competitions will benefit from 100%, 70%, and 50% fixed tuition fee discounts in the first academic year. 
  4. Students with an IELTS score of seven or an equivalent TOEFL score will benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount in the first academic year. 
  5. Students who receive a score of 50, 80, and 100 at BSc, MSc, and PhD levels upon admission will benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount. 

Conditions during Graduation:

 

1. First-third non-Iranian students of each field of study will benefit from 100%, 70%, and 50% fixed tuition fee discount. Requirements of this clause include the following:

* Students should gain a minimum GPA of 18. 

* Students should pass a minimum of 15 credits in the current term. 

 2. Students with gold, silver, and bronze medals of Asia Competitions will benefit from a 100%, 70%, and 50% tuition fee discount in the next academic year. 

3. Students will benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount in the next semester in case of achieving the 2.5% top results of the test of basic sciences and pre-internship.

4. Students will benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount in the next academic year in case of achieving a score of 20, 40, and 50 at BSc, MSc, and PhD or higher levels according to the scoring criteria of the vice-chancellor for research and technology of the university (appendix).

5. Students will benefit from a 100% fixed tuition fee discount in the next academic year in case of obtaining an IELTS score of seven or an equivalent TOEFL score.

Research scoring of discount applicants 

The vice chancellor for research and technology of the university will be the scoring source of research activities.

 

  1. Article Publication 
  • Articles published in journals indexed in PubMed/Medline and ISI-web of Science will receive 20 points (per article). If the magazine has an impact factor, the article’s score will be added to two times of impact factor of the year of publication. 
  • Articles published in Scopus will receive 15 points (per article). 
  • The applicant will receive a complete score in case of being the corresponding author; otherwise, they will be allocated 50% of the score. 

 

Note: Only one article published in a journal (over an official and non-electronic letter) or under publication (article press in) can be allocated scores. 

2. Presentation of Summaries of Published Articles in Congresses and Seminars

· Three points per each lecture in international conferences 

· Two points per each abstract of an ISI-indexed article in the form of an abstract meeting 

· Three scores per each ISI-indexed proceeding 

Note 1: Three additional points will be given in case of acceptance of the article as the best article in the congress. 

Note 1: The maximum score allocated in this clause is five. 

3. Scientific Book Publication 

· Book translation has five scores while book compilation receives 10 scores. 

Note: The maximum score allocated in this clause is 15. 

4. Representing or Cooperating in Implementation of a Research Project 

· Two scores will be allocated for each cooperation in a research project. 

· Five scores will be given for each representation of a research project. 

Note: The maximum score allocated in this clause is 15.

5. Innovation, Invention, Discovery 

· 10 points will be allocated to each international patent registration. 

· The maximum score allocated in this clause is 20.
