Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences ascends 20 positions in the 2024 Leiden World Ranking

The Vice chancellor of Research and Technology at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences announced that the university achieved the 1117th position in the 2024 Leiden Global Ranking, out of approximately 21,000 universities, research institutes, and research centers. Dr. Cyrus Jalili stated that the university's ranking among the country's medical sciences universities improved from 9 to 8, and only 11 medical sciences universities in the country met the necessary criteria to be included in the ranking. He emphasized that the Leiden ranking system is widely considered as one of the most reliable research ranking systems globally. This system evaluates and ranks universities based on scientific impact, international collaboration, open access, and gender diversity.

Dr. Jalili further explained that the university's presence in the Leiden ranking system indicates both quantitative and qualitative growth of scientific productions, and it confirms the university's visibility at an international level. He noted that this success demonstrates the university's increasing influence in medical education and research, as well as its roles in society and the pursuit of a sustainable future. It also plays a significant role in enhancing the university's global and regional status and international collaboration.

Dr. Jalili attributed this achievement to the teamwork, effort, empathy, and collaboration of the university's academic staff, employees, and colleagues.
