Dr. Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi,
the Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education appointed Dr.
Ali Soroush as the head of
Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Ali Soroush received his Doctor
of Medicine (MD) from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences and his
specialty in sports medicine with a focus on lifestyle modification from
Karolinska Institute, one of the world's foremost medical universities in
Sweden. He is currently a full professor at KUMS, School of Medicine.
His
executive background includes KUMS vice chancellor for student and cultural
affairs, vice chancellor for resources, development and management affairs,
head of Imam Reza Hospital Complex, executive advisor to the chancellor of KUMS,
director of clinical affairs, and pro-vice chancellor for clinical affairs.
During his career at KUMS, Dr. Soroush achieved the titles of outstanding researcher in 2017, exemplary teaching professor of KUMS in 2023, and national exemplary director of the Shahid Rajaei Festival. He is also the scientific secretary of the National Heart Congress and the referee of several prestigious domestic and foreign English scientific journals and has a record of membership in various councils and specialized committees.
Furthermore, he has completed many management courses including strategic management, project management, and hospital management in Iran as well as in Japan. He was a member of the accreditation committee of universities and educational institutions of the Ministry of Health and a member of the board of instructors of the training courses for managers of the Ministry.
Dr. Soroush has published more than 150 scientific articles in both domestic and foreign specialized journals, is the author of several volumes of books in specialized fields, and has designed and implemented dozens of research projects, the results of which have been presented in seminars, congresses, and conventions.
